Summer can be a hard season to dress for, but there are a few reliable ways to dress for sweltering heat and humidity.

1.  clothing that is designed with a looser fit is essential to dressing the right way for summer. Even a small pair of shorts on a hot day will make you sweat if they hug your body. And you shouldn’t always rely on fabrics to absorb moisture. Loose-fitting fabrics will keep you cooler and have the added benefit of looking stylish as well.

Before you go out and bulk buy XL everything, bear in mind that your clothing needs just enough slack to allow air to flow. That’s because the air will move around your body heat and sweat and help you avoid discomfort even when it’s sweltering outside. Finding loose-fitting apparel is also very easy to do – many designers and big brands cater to this style.

2. Two of the most reliable fabrics to wear in summer are cotton and linen. Cotton will be your go to choice for most outfits due to its lightweight, moisture-wicking properties. There are many varieties of cotton, but seersucker will keep you most comfortable due to its looser weave and better air circulation. Linen is not your everyday fabric as it leans more towards a statement. But even this is a great reason to pick up a linen shirt, or trousers (or both) to flex at your next summer party.

1.       Stay away from tight clothing. Loose-fitting clothing is your best bet for staying cool in summer

2.       Choose sleeveless or loose sleeves. When it comes to summer clothes, the goal is to have as much airflow as possible.

3.       Choose light colors and white dresses . try to avoid black or dark colour which absorb sunlight

4.       Choose breathable fabrics like  100 percent linen, cotton, or silk. Avoid any synthetic item which aren’t breathable like mixed fabric, polyester , thick jeans  that trap moisture during the summer.

5.       Leather foot wear are good for summer . choose shoes with simple design. try to avoid pump shoe or very tight fitting shoe with many fitting materials.  Use cotton sock who have to use tight fitting shoe or sport shoe

6.       Minimize accessories. Lots of dangling necklaces or bangles can stick to your skin in the heat

7.        If your office has air conditioning, use a cotton cardigan when you needed over your formal dress

Being a mum is hard work! From waking up in the middle of the night to breastfeed to picking the kids up from school, us mums have busy schedules and that means we’re often exhausted!

It's difficult to set aside time for yourself when you are meeting the needs of your family and the demands your job. But eating well and exercising will benefit everyone around you.

But there are some ways to make healthy eating and exercise less overwhelming, and you don’t have to spend hours sweating at the gym

Here are some handy tips to help you out…

1. Don’t compare yourself to others

You may not be able to help yourself from looking at other mums (especially celebrity mums on social media) and think “They make it look so easy!”

The truth is that everyone is different – with different schedules, budgets and responsibilities so there is no point in feeling guilty or jealous of someone else.

2. Cook in bulk and save the rest for the week

It may sound full on, but by spending a few hours in the kitchen and meal prepping for the next few days, you will save a lot of time and effort later on in the week.

So when it’s the middle of the week and you’re feeling tired and unmotivated to cook, you just have to grab something out of the freezer and dinner is sorted.

3. Exercising with Your Family

Although your workout can be a great way to decompress and get in your own zone, exercise is also a great way to enjoy time with your family. "Exercising allows us to do things together. In this day and age with so much social media and technology, it's easy to get pulled apart. Fitness allows us to unplug and actually spend time together: talking to each other, asking about our days, and really getting to know each other.

4. Surround yourself with support

Positivity and support are SO important when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle.

5. Exercise when the kids are asleep

Sometimes though, us mums need a bit of “me time.” Once the kids have gone to bed, take that time to focus on yourself and squeeze in a workout of your choice. That way there will be no interruptions!

Being a mom is exhausting. But, being a mom is also a lot of fun and the best thing ever. As moms, we tend to overlook ourselves. We’re so busy making sure the little’s are taken care of, working and maintaining a home.but self-care is so important and it took  a long time to realize it. So  became a better mother, a better wife and a better person to yourself, you have to take care of yourself .

Here are some tips you may find  helpful!

Putting Yourself First as A Mom &  It is  Important

All moms have demanding lives which means that their health and wellbeing is often put on the backburner. Being a mom is a 24-hour job, which can be even more stressful and take care of other responsibilities.

 one of my previous posts on strategies for you need to find inner peace, everyday  reciting positive affirmations as one of the ways to achieving inner peace and happiness.

Affirmations go out into the universe and what we speak come to pass. This is a powerful self-care practice which can be done almost anywhere, so for a busy mum, this practice is great.

Self-care snippets

As a busy mum, you may be too pressed for time to have a full on self-care routine.

You could set aside a few minutes a day to concentrate on your favourite self-care practices instead.

Another suggestion is to set aside a few minutes for stretching when you wake up, journaling, listening to your favourite podcast or youtube channel, or for practising deep breathing.

Prioritise sleep. Getting enough sleep is self-care. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise! It may be surprising that I have put this at the top of the busy mum’s list, but not getting enough sleep can wreak havoc on the body.

Sleep deprivation can affect body weight. The levels of the hormones in the body which control feelings of hunger or fullness are affected by sleep. Sleep deprivation also causes the release of insulin, which leads to increased fat storage and a higher risk of type 2 diabetes. Shocking isn’t it?

The consequences of sleep deprivation can also include swollen, sunken eyes, dark circles and dehydrated skin. So you see friends, the saying “get your beauty sleep” is a very relevant one when it comes to self-care.

To find some time for yourself

Although it’s important you’re always there for your kids when they need you; it’s just as important to take some time away for yourself to re-charge your batteries. Take a walk, see your friends or perhaps join the gym and socialize with new people. Doing activities you enjoy should make you feel much happier in yourself, which will then reflect on your kids and make them feel content too.

 

Write in a Journal – As busy moms, we often don’t have time to think. We get so caught up in the chaos of motherhood and life. Take a journal or a little notebook and just write. Jot down what you are grateful for. Writing has really helped me take more life in daily and really appreciate all that I do have!

Seek help

I can’t stress enough how important for self-care asking for help is. Sure, it’s great being a mum who has her home, career or business in order, but sometimes a mum needs some help to enable her get some rest or time to herself.

Before getting to the stage of feeling unable to cope with whatever situation you are going through, ask for help. If you have a family member that can help with babysitting, don’t be too shy to ask.

Where there are no family members that can help, it is possible to find alternative options such as nanny-share which enables parents to share a nanny with a friend or another local family.

To be a role model

All moms wish for is their children to look up to them as they grow up. One of the most important pieces of advice you’re likely to give your child is for them to put themselves before others whenever they feel pressured or know they need to do what’s best for them, regardless of what others may think. By putting yourself first on the odd occasion, you’ll be agreat role model for your children, who will then be likely to lead by your example.
